Children Empowering Children

The 2010 Campaign is focused around empowering the youth of Africa to dream and look beyond their circumstances, however it goes beyond that! One of the main ways to raise football donations will be through local UK schools, with the idea of allowing the kids in the UK to build into the children of Africa!

We will be writing regular updates and posting pictures of our adventures throughout the next 9 months which will hopefully provide some first hand evidence of what children in Africa are up against and the challenges they face on a daily basis.

Simple daily chores in our world are not so straight forward for others.

Getting to school:
UK: Jumping on the bus, train or getting a ride with our parents in their car.
Africa: Walking along a busy road for 5km, possibly without any shoes.

Completing homework:
UK: When we get home in our exercise books with the support of our parents
Africa: Probably doesn’t exist, due to the following; lack of exercise books, if they do, it needs to be completed before its dark as electricity is unreliable if there is any at all.

Holidays:
UK: Exciting times, opportunity to relax and play with all our toys and spend time with friends and family.
Africa: Difficult times, school could mean food and therefore when the children are on holiday they don’t get a proper meal.

These are just some of the possible areas where our lives might differ, hopefully we will be able to shed more light on this over the next 9 months and children will be able to empower children!

The potential is HUGE!
